Hi! everyone, Today i´m going to talk about YouTube.

YouTube is a video sharing website created in 2005 and it has a lot of videos of different topics like music, video clips, Tv clips of differents Tv shows and videos upleaded by the users of this platform.
I think that YouTube is very important for the comunicationt platforms and for the daily life because there are many of the things that happen in the whole world, you can see all the things that are hapenning and the things that happened, YouTube is a big file of contemporany life and a great place to see and listen your favorite music.

I don´t remember when was the first time to visit YouTube, but I always considered it a good web site and now I cann´t go a day without visiting. I use YouTube for listening and watching musical videos of my favorite bands and musicians, I like yo see the new guitar products of other countries because I´m an fan to the electric guitar, amplifiers and accesories.

I use YouTube for watching other kind of videos too, I like funny videos, hilarious viral videos, animal videos, specially funny cats.  

I never have uploaded a video and usually I don´t leave comments on videos but I have downloaded many videos for my university presentations, videos related with art and philosophy. So, YouTube is very important to my life in any aspects and I not imagine my life without it.    
 

Food and eating habits

How green are you

Hi! now I feel that I have become more green, but I'm not an Eco hero or something like that. When I was a child I didn't worried about the environment, my family were not a good model for green teaching, but in the school I learning about this topics. Now I never throw up garbage in the streets, parks or any public places, even I pick up some when I can.
I like to walk very much. When I went to my high school I walking two and a half kilometres to get there and two and a half kilometres to get to my home. Now I don't walk so much but when I have time I don't use the public transport and this is good for the city. I like to walk and see everything that happens around.

Negative things are that I don't recycle any, I don't know how I do it and I don't have time. But those are excuses, I should do it. I don't support monetarily non governmental environmental organization like Greenpace and I Smoke. I know that is bad for my healthy and the healthy of the planet but I can't stop to doing it. Santiago is a contaminated city and I think that with some steps or measures we can live better.     

Animals and pets

Some people says that they are animal lovers, but I don´t agree with that concept. Sometimes the "animal lovers" are no more tan a comercial thing, only another industry, only another way to exploit. Anyway, today I´m going to talk about my relation with animals.

When I was a child I had one cat but I didn´t worried of him. Now is so different, I Have seven cats, I dont like to call they "pets", I prefer consider they as "special friends"that must be respect and be cared. They are called: "Jouni", "Rayita", "Gata negra", "Gata negra peluda", "Gata negra chica", "Larguirucho", "Gato piturriento" and sometimes others foreigners join them

             

I love animals, I respect them. So I reject the use of animals for medical research. They are not an object. For that and others reasons I became vegetarian, not long ago but the important thing is not consider they like a properties or goods. I think the same about the zoos or wear fur coats. I try not to use things that contains some animal derivate, but is vey difficult. I think that even buy an animal as a pet is wrong.          

In future I hope that the animals are considered as human being, not as equals, obviously, but with the same rights, they feel, they suffer and they can be happy with Little, only with love and respect.

POST 4: SUMMARY FROM A CAREER-RELATED ARTICLE

The article is about an art performance made by the English artist called himself "Bansky"realized in South Bronx (United States). The action of arts puts a young bootblack polishing the big red boot of a giant Ronald McDonald "statue". 



But the article center is the actual condition of some contemporany artist like Bansky that are serving a double active membership. Jones think that Bansky is an a political artist and at the same time he participated in the art market thus his art becomes less subversive. Jones take another art action for explain his point of view: Bansky sold some of his work of art to some tourists in a low price but his works as a street artist in that moment increases in value



For all this, Jonathan Jones qualifies the Bansky's work as naive yet the impact that he cause in his fans, this situation is as a comercial speculation. The "mock" of Bansky is very small compared with the internal sitation of United States. It in its own structure United States is a satire so the work of Bansky is overshadowed, an foreigner that come to show us the bad things of a country from inside of it is not convincing for Jones.

Japanese animation

Hi!, today I'm going to talk about my favourite Japanese animation. When I was a child the Japanese animation was a really good thing to view in the T.V. and this it no changed to much. I liked to see "Dragon Ball" and "Caballeros del zodiaco"  because they had many fights and action. If I would to choose now one Japanese animation maybe will be "Evangelion".



Evangelion is a animation series created by the anime studio Gainax and was both written and directed by Hideaki Anno. Evangelion belong to the science fiction genre that centres around machines or "Evas" controlled by people from inside in the context of a futuristic Tokyo  after a worldwide catastrophe. This series represent a dystopia topic. Also the history of this animation I like the art and the visuality of that, but the most important thing in Evangelion is the background that mix philosophy and religion with other contemporary topics like psychoanalysis and the drama of the war times and the human loss of sense. Definitely I like this kinds of topics and this influences my life and my point of view over a lot of things.

A country I would like to visit

Hi everyone
Today  I'm going to talk about a country I would like to go. In first place, I may to say that I never travel out from Chile but this is not a bad thing for me, I think that Chile is a beautiful country to go all over . So, if I would choice another country I Would prefer a country near of Chile. I like the American culture, so I Would like to travel to Peru. I would like to know its local society, its history and its landscapes. I know that the Peruvian culture is very rich and diverse, I'm interested in its pre-Columbian past, in its art and culture. Is for that reason that I would like to visit Machu Picchu, not only in a touristic way, I would like to know about architecture and others artistic expressions. Also, I would like to know others places in the country like Lima and its museums like the MALI museum. I would like to travel throw its Amazon landscapes too. Finally, I think that Peru would be a very exciting place to travel, for the possibility to know its culture or only for enjoyment

                          

My ideal job

Hello, this is the first post to english class and I'm gonna talk about my ideal job. It's very difficult to my talk about an ideal job or something like that, because in arts everything is unstable and uncertain, specially in Chile, but thinking in future definitely deserves it.

I’m hoping to find a good job in a museum or another institution related with arts, maybe being a curator, a investigator or art critic with a decent salary and good work atmosphere. Maybe I would like to take some degrees in the area, in Chile or another country to teaching in some educational center and principally, make investigation. I like music too, I play the guitar and I had some rock bands in the past and who knows, maybe some day I will be a millionaire rockstar jajaja. As well, in conclusion I must be considered every possibilities and be open mind if I want to take a job in the art area.         

Blogging Experience

In first place, I liked write the blogs cause the topics was related with my career and the kind of things what I like. I really like write, is one of my favorite pastime, I don`t write only essays and other type of documents for the university, I write poems and literature too. I think it helped to improve my English cause I don`t used to write in English in other situations, even in my past English classes. In the school the English classes was too bad, the teacher teach always the same and he wasn't interest in our learning. I never had this kind of exercises before and I appreciate that. The advantages of the blogs is be able to write better and fluently and use other words and vocabulary not so usual. I don't thing any disadvantages of write blogs, is always fruitful write in the language that I learn. Maybe the only suggestion could be the word "favorite" in the instructions of some posts. I don't like the word "favorite" cause demand you choose one thing, and this is very difficult to me. Anyway, I feel a little bit of sadness to finish this blog, but everything must to finish sometime.                        

My favourite subject

My favourite subject of this term is called "Work and Speech"(I suppose that the translate is correct, the name of the subjects of my career are weird). In this subject I study the correlation of Art and politics. I can see the relation of artistic work and daily works since the context of Russian avant-garde and the essay: "The Work of Art in the Age of  Mechanical reproduction" of Walter Benjamin. With the mechanical reproduction, work of Art lost its "aura". The mass production and the work undermine the aesthetic autonomy. The aesthetic autonomy is also a content of the subject, I read "Critique of judgement" of Immanuel Kant to understand the artistic autonomy. It's an exposition class and have two assessment until now. I like this subject cause I'm interested in the Art process, the modern way of understand Art in its non-representation condition and its relationship with daily life in a political sense. The subject will finish with the ideas of Jacques Rancièrè about this problems, is important his idea of emancipation and the implication of Art in this.                  

BEAUTY OR NOT BEAUTY

Today I'm gonna talk about the video: ¨A Darwinian Theory of Beauty?¨by Denis Dutton. Dutton thinks that since the homo erectus to the actual human being, the experience of beauty and beauty elements work equally, based in the "Darwinian Theory of Evolution". Maybe is right in the case of natural beauty, but is difficult to think that a homo erectus can get an aesthetic experience in his condition of oppressed by the nature. In the case of the artistic beauty I completely disagree. In first place, Lascaux and the other examples can´t be considered art, they are only ruins of the past, we can`t know how it was. Besides of this, the concept "Art" is modern, before of this we can only defined this like an image. In second place, we need carry out an intelectual operation for enjoy the beauty: the consciousness. And repeat, I don´t think that it can be possible in a homo erectus, even in a ancient human. The other thing about the artistic beauty is that since the beginning of the XX century, in Art, the most important issue is no longer the beauty. Beauty would be a design, clothes, an ornamental paint, but no more in Art.                   

An important painter

I don´t have a favourite artist, but now I´m interested very much to the french painter Paul Cézanne. Cézanne was a post-impressionist artist and he influenced all the art production following. He would be considered the father of 20th century art. His major contribution was the geometrical simplification and, the most important, the multiple perspective or Cézanne perspective: we can find in one of his paints a frontal perspective, a zenithal perspective, a lateral perspective and so on. This two characteristic will be represented in the cubism, in Braque and Picasso for example. I would like show you this paint:

      


it's called "The Kitchen Table". Aparently this paint is very simple, this paint represented a ordinary theme: a kitchen table with different fruits and kitchen objects. But, if you look well, the layout of the objects is weird. Is imposible find this objects in the real life in this way. And this is the important issue of this paint, it's a paint, no the real life. This is the modern operation of Cézanne, his perspective deny the illusion that until this moment prevailed. For all this things, I like Cézanne, he opened the road for all the artists next, specially to the avant-garde artists.

A photograph

If I would have to choose a photograph, maybe would be this one. This picture belong to the "Boxeadores" serie of the chilean photographer Paz Errázuriz. The boxers are one of the most iconic works of Errázuriz. In this photo we can see a young man, shirtless and posing in a simple staging. I like the sincerity and the austerity of this photo, a sober black and white. Stand out the body and the face of this young man, this elements represent the sacrifice, the pain and raw life. This photo symbolize the neglect of the society, the existential drama of living in a body that depend of a historic structure. We can see the face of loss: although the boxer win a fight, actually he never wins, he lived for a lost cause. His body load with the weight of some more than the punchs and the hurts, he carry on in his back the weight of the senseless. He is an anti-heroe like Sísifo.

            






















Sísifo has to carry up a huge rock over a hill, and when finish, must be start again. This is his punishment, his divine penalty for try to fool his destination. Like Sísifo, the young boxer have to fight again and again for nothing, but he do it with honor, we can see the dignity in his eyes. In his arms we can see the veins stand out: he will continue fighting a fight that not belong him, but wich in turn belong to us all.

BLOG CORRECTION

Mean Girls

Today I'm gonna talk about my favourite film. (Mean girls isn't my favourite at all but is awesome). Directed by Mark Waters and the screenplay by Tina Fey. Based on "Queen Bees and Wannabes" a book by Rosalind Wiseman, (.) this (This) movie talk about american high school's life. How girls fight between herself, make gossip and all that stuff. I love this movie because his screenplay and cast, whit (with) Lindsay Lohan and Tina Fey can't better. 
All begins when the new student (Lindsay Lohan caracter {character}) leave her old life on AFRICA (Africa) whit (with) her scientist parents and arrives to America. On USA (In, but I`m not sure about that), she found a lifestyle totally diferent (totaly different lifestyle), specially on high school. Where being popular or loser, can define how you gonna live during the school and more. 
The caracters (characters) are so defined. you (You) can found the tipical (typical) hollaback girl: popular, rich, gorgeous and marvelous, of course, with her clan: a lot of girls that wannabe like her. And in front of this tipe (type) of girl are the losers, that make a rol of the victims.
This film can change the look of a serious problem to funny situations, and thats (that's) what I like of that. 
I guess that a lot of yours know the movie, but I can tell the final. So, I expected that you watch the movie if yo (you) don't, and join (enjoy) it.

KNIFE IN THE WATER

Hi everyone. I`m not really sure about my favorite movie, I think that I don't have, but i will try. I choose "knife in the water", the first film of Roman Polanski (also as co-written). Knife in the Water was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 1963 Academy Awards, the first Polish production to receive this kind of recognition. One of the reasons why I like this film cause there are only three characters: Andrzej (Leon Stanisław Niemczyk), Krystyna (Jolanta Umecka) and a young man (Zygmunt Malanowicz) that make an incredible psychological atmosphere. A married polish couple pick up a young man in the road and invite him on board of their yacht, and everything happend there: psychological tension grows as the two men compete for the woman’s attention. A storm forces them ward off below deck, and tension builds to a violent climax in a claustrophobic space. I like the scene when the young man plays with his pocket knife in his hand, is like a metaphor of the entire movie . In the Polanski debut we can see the elemental characteristics of him: deep situacions, sexual tension and the psychologic drama are present in all film. I like the others elements like the music and cinematography. I like black and white movies a lot, I don’t feel old see these, I feel connected with other time and other sensibility. I really enjoy watching this movie and I totally recommend this cause you will having a good time. 

A USEFUL TOOL

Hello classmates, today I will show you a good website that is helpful for me and my class: Dropbox (I have to say  that Google is the best website in the world, but all of yours know that). Dropbox is a file hosting service with a big storage capacity. In my class, we use this web for upload different materials like images of pictures, texts and summary texts, power point presentations, class recordings and conferences, etc. The items in Dopbox are organized in folders from where you can download. This website provides and excellent quality for the users, is fast and allows synchronize many contents. I recommend using dropbox as a tool because is very friendly and easy to use, you don't need to be an expert user or something like that.        

ZIGGY PLAYED GUITAR

Is difficult to me choose only one favorite singer or band, but David Bowie would be close of this. Bowie is hard to classify in a determinated genre or type of music, but definitely rock music would be present in all his career. I like Bowie cause his music is too versatile and influent for music in general. I like very much his Berlin era albums, cause the sound of this is pretty deep and dark, but if I had to choose some favorite song would be "Station to station" found in his album with the same name. I like this song cause its musical structure is very unusual, is much longer than most of popular songs and has many unexpected rhythm changes.         

My autobiography

My name is Felipe Quijada Aravena. I was born on april first, 1991 in Providencia, Santiago, now I live in Quinta Normal. My father work as an accountant in the administration of a clean service plant, my mother is a paramedic and she work in public hospital. I've got a sister, she has 14 years old and she studied at the school. I studied musical composition for two years but now I'm second year student of theory and history of arts at Universidad de Chile. I had a musical band for some years but we separated for time troubles, we play in some places like universities and schools, I played the guitar. I like literature and movies too, specially Kubrick`s films Space Odissey and The Shining.
